The Museum’s 2023 Lehmann Emerging Artist Award Recipients include interdisciplinary artists Yaritza Flores Bustos and Alejandro Macias, both of whom were born along the U.S.-Mexico border and explore themes of identity, immigration, and assimilation in their work. Flores’ archival-style installations honor multiple languages essential to her community’s survival while Macias’ interdisciplinary practice incorporates conventional and abstract approaches.
The Museum’s expansive collection of Latin American art was largely assembled by local donors Diane and Bruce Halle. The upcoming exhibition Order, Chaos, and the Space Between showcases work from the Halle Collection alongside new acquisitions that further expand the depth and breadth of the collection.

Heard Museum offers visitors a chance to encounter the history, culture, and modern art of 22 American Indian tribes. The museum includes a cultural village, an authentic art shop, and annual events like the world championship hoop dance contest.
Palette Restaurant has closed permanently, but you can visit the Orientation Gallery’s Temporary Café for coffee, sandwiches, and salads. The cafe is open during the museum’s voluntary donation hours and free admission days for children.
Roosevelt Row is a vibrant arts district that offers upscale galleries, restaurants, and boutiques. See a mural, catch a performance, or participate in the monthly art walk.
